As in previous years, you will be asked to rate the sessions and workshops you attended. You will be asked to rate presenters, as well as provide an overall rating for the sessions. You will also have the opportunity to rate other conference events, facilities, and arrangements and to provide input for next year’s conference.

NASIG Digital Preservation Committee Update: Model Policies
Program Description: Are you aware of challenges with online resource access at your institution? Do you wonder about the reliability of long-term preservation? Maybe you’re concerned about who needs to do what to tackle these issues? Librarians and publishers have essential roles to play in ensuring digital preservation and the NASIG Digital Preservation Committee is dedicated to providing members and the wider community with the knowledge and strategies necessary to safeguard digital scholarly content for the future. In this session we will provide an overview of the concepts and challenges around preservation, and what we can do together to make informed decisions to address these. We’ll also introduce revised NASIG Guides which the Committee has produced to provide further information. Join us in this session as we delve into the Committee’s work, explore best practices, and discuss how librarians and publishers can play a vital role in preserving scholarly content for generations to come.

Learning Outcomes:
After attending this presentation, participants will have:
  • Gained an understanding of the importance and challenges of digital preservation across formats
  • Insights into the roles and responsibilities of librarians and publishers in this space
  • Learnt about industry best practices for digital preservation
  • Explored collaborative efforts to enhance digital preservation, including for open access materials.
