User Group/ Informal Discussion: Advocating for Maintenance

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Library workers and vendors alike often face an uphill battle when it comes to getting buy-in for maintenance tasks and projects. The "shiny new thing" or innovative initiative can lure our organizational priorities away from important but less-visible work, like updating documentation, proactive link checking, and investing in infrastructure. Let's commiserate about why something has to break for maintenance to get prioritized, and brainstorm about ways to advocate for maintenance and demonstrate its often overlooked impact.
